Domestic Base and Coffin Top June 9, 2002

Here she is! Although the wood on the cabinet is sturdy, she is going to put Dr Woodwell to a real test. The condition of the coffin top is much worse. It's only holding the proper shape thru habit.

This shot is thru the drop hole.

Here's a close up of the foot pedal bar. Are replacement nuts available?

The end of the pitman rod is broken. I'm hoping to make it functional anyway.

The wheel spins freely. The frame work has a solid but thin coat of rust. Nothing deep or serious.

You can just make out the word Domestic if you enlarge the picture.

This broken part was included with the machine. It was part of the foot pedal (Thanks Justina!) It's also interesting to see the color difference in the top section & the portion that usually hangs to the side.

There's also a musty aroma, but I've smelled worse.

Two of the handle pulls are missing the long bar plus the cross pin that hold them in place. The bottom of the hanging bar is ridged, like something is supposed to screw on. Anybody know what it should look like?

Here's the machine that will go into this base.
